The Melo Man gives back

Carmelo Anthony is a great player of course, but as a person he is also great. He knows how to give back. On November 7, 2006, 3 years after he left Syracuse he donated $3 million dollars to his old school for a new basketball practice facility. The gymnasium would be named after Carmelo, who led Syrcause to a National title before getting swapped to the NBA. Carmelo says he wanted to do that and no one told him he should do it. He did it because he says Syracuse took him in like he was a native from the town. That is the biggest give back any NBA player has given in the history of give backs from NBA stars. Carmelo gave enough money to fix up the most of the school. There are now two practice courts, men's and women's locker rooms and offices. Carmelo has gained so much respect from the people of Syracuse University because he was only there for 6 months and he gave so much.

H.O.O.D. Movement

In the summer of 2005, in his hometown Baltimore, Maryland, Carmelo has kicked off his investments by starting a basketball tournament called "Melo's H.O.O.D. ( Holding Our Own Destiny ) 3 on 3 challenge. Boys and girls competed in this double elimination tournament. The tournament is divided into 4 different divisions based upon age: 11 and under, 12-13, 14-15 and 16-17. Each division has 8 teams and had 4 players on the team. The tournament started at 10am and ended at 4pm. This investement quickly blew up and became a big thing in the neighborhood, so big the whole country knows about it. This tournament was specifically made for the neighborhood where it is held at because of the bad reputation and atmosphere, mainly to keep kids out of trouble. So instead of kids doing drugs and gang banging they will play basketball. This tournament is still active and continues to be great success. This just goes to show how much Melo gives back to his community.

New Melo V

This right here is a preview of Carmelo's new sneakers the Melo V. They look like a similiar version of the Air Jordan 23's but if you look very closely, you would see that it has the number 15 stitched on the side. With the huge success of the Melo IV, Carmelo looks to expand his saga of sneakers and continue with the progression of his sneaker line. As you can see most of the idea and look of the sneaker comes from the 23's. These sneakers will be a breakthrough for the Melo fans and his company. This will also be a breakthrough sneaker on the basketball court.

Carmelo Bio

Carmelo Anthony was born May 29, 2008 in Brooklyn, Ny. When he was only 3 years old his father died of cancer. When he was 8 his family and him moved to Baltimore, Maryland. There is where he would set his eyes on the goal he wanted to have for the rest of his life. He began playing in tournaments in his neighborhood. He then traveled to Virginia to go to one of the best high schools in the country, Oak Hill Academy he was so great in high school that his name traveled across the country and he was named an All-American. Coming out of high school Carmelo was the top prospect for the NBA but he decided to make a smart decision and play in college. So he got a scholarship to Syracuse University and there he would show his talent against grown men and even they could not substain his greatness and talent. There in college he would give himself a name that will be marked in history as him being the best college player ever. He scored 22.2 ppg and 10.0 rpg with those stats he led the Syracuse Orangmen to the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship in 2003.He was honored with the Final Four MVP for his efforts of an explosion of 33 points against Texas in the semi-finals and a solid 20 point and 10 rebound effort in the final victory over the University of Kansas. After his freshman year in college he entered the NBA draft and was drafted the 3rd overall pick. The draft he was in is now considered one of the best draft classes in the history of NBA drafts. Carmelo Anthony is now considered the best scorer in the league. Not self-proclaimed but by the one people consider the best, Kobe Bryant. He is the captain of one of the best scoring teams in the NBA and the captian and best player on the USA team. He then started creating sneakers with the company of Jordan. He is a model for the company as well. He has stared in many music videos and television series. Soon enough will come his own show. On December 25, 2004 he was engaged to MTV star La-La Vasquez and he had a baby with her last year by the name of Kiyan Anthony.

2008 olympics

This summer is going to be a great one for the captain of the tri captain of the usa team. He is not the best to many fans of the NBA but to his peers from the USA team and NBA he is considered the best. Even the MVP says that Carmelo Anthony is the best. He has helped lead the USA team to the 2008 olympics at beijing this summer. There he will showcase his greatness amongst the world's greatest basketball players arond the world. Carmelo, Kobe and Lebron are the tri captains of the USA basketball team and they will help USA's reputation by helping USA win the metal.

Carmelo Anthony has come out with a new edition of his newest sneakers, the m4. They have gold on the back plastic part and are the rest is white and burgandy wood color and yellow, also with red outlining. The back peice, on the gold, is a map of china. This sneaker ws dedicated to the china games that he played in during the summer and the 2008 olympics that will take place in beijing china.

A show ?

There is good news for the Carmelo Anthony fan, he has his own show. The show is called Carmelo's Way. It will be about his every day and what he goes through mentally and physically. It will be showing him in training for the 08 olympics and the 09 season. It will also be speaking of his life at home. He will be around cameras 24/7 and we will now be satisfied.
